The Garrity way

The kind of shop folks call a secret

Big chains rush you through a number system and hand you a bill that makes you wince. Garrity is the other thing. You get a chair, a real barber who remembers how you like it, a little conversation if you want it, and a clean cut that holds its shape. Around here people still say it is the best shop since the late, legendary Razor Ray. We take that as the highest compliment in town.

Real barbers, real chairs

Cindy, Tammy, Jake and Shannon have decades between them. With several chairs going, the wait stays short.

Honest prices

Cuts start at $16, kids and seniors pay less, and a beard trim is $7. One regular called it fifty dollars of care for sixteen bucks.

Walk right in

No app to download, no appointment to book. Pop in off 2nd Street Tuesday through Saturday and grab the next open chair.

No appointment, no problem

Three steps to a fresh cut

01

Walk in

Find us at 311 2nd Street South, the brick shop with the barber pole. Open Tuesday through Saturday. Give a call first if you are on a tight schedule.

02

Take a chair

Grab a seat under the pressed tin and tell your barber how you like it. They listen, they educate, and they will not rush you out the door.

03

Walk out sharp

Clean lines, a brushed-off collar, and change left in your pocket. Then come back in a few weeks, because this is the kind of shop you keep.

Almost don't want to review because it's a secret. The best barber shop since the late Razor Ray. Reasonable, friendly, good atmosphere.

Hubby goes here exclusively to get his hair cut. Very reasonable prices and having several barbers to choose from cuts the wait time down. It's a popular place for old timers.

Unbelievable haircut experience. Mr Shannon Patrick went above and beyond to make me look my best and I can't thank him enough, he is my new barber for as long as the future will allow.

The Garrity Barber Shop building in downtown Nampa, Idaho

The chairs

Run by barbers who remember your name

Garrity has been part of downtown Nampa for more than thirty years, and the regulars treat it like a second living room. Cindy, Tammy, Jake and Shannon work the chairs, and folks drive in from out of town and even out of state just to sit in one of them. Customers have moved away and still make the hundred mile trip back for a cut they trust.

It is the kind of place where there is barber shop talk in the air, kids get their first cut, and old timers swap stories. No frills, no pretense, just steady hands and a fair price, the way a neighborhood barbershop is supposed to be.
